The bulk of my work is as a freelance travel writer and photographer. In this role I've written for numerous regional, national, and international outlets, including newspapers, magazines, and websites. I'm drawn to this type of work because I truly believe that travel broadens the mind, and can, over time, solve, soothe, or salve many of the world's ills.

It may sound sappy, but some of the most poignant lessons I've learned have been made clear and seen to be most relevant while I've been on the road. That's why I write about travel.

Copied below you'll find a few links to travel articles that I've written.

TRAVEL CLIPS

COOKING CLASSES, MARKET TOURS, LOCAL PRODUCTS

Fork On the Road - April 2015 to the Present

I love to cook, eat, and experience cultures trough their food.

In 2015 I began to write, edit, and publish "Fork on the Road", a website dedicated to the exploration and experience of destination-based cooking classes, market tours, and the production of local products wherever my travels happen to take me.

The results are a professionally written and curated eclectic mix of travel tips for curious cooks which can be found here.

BREAKFAST the WORLD OVER

"Breakfast Chronicles" - April 2015 to the Present

Breakfast is, by far, my favorite meal.

And as I travel, I love nothing more than to get up early and watch a city wake up and start its day. As a result, I often find myself judging cities, countries, and cultures based on their breakfast offerings.

Since the Spring of 2015 I've attempted to capture my very personal bests and worsts (or wursts) in a blog about breakfast around the world.
you'll find my findings here.

The MODERN IMMIGRANT EXPERIENCE

"An American in Dublin"- April 2011 to the Present

Upon learning that my wife and I were going to permanently relocate to Dublin, I began keeping a blog about the experience of moving to another country and attempting to make a life.

My articles on emigration, immigration, and being a global migrant in modern times have gotten me reposted, asked to appear as a radio pundit (on both RTE and Newstalk), and have regularly filled my inbox with both hate and praise.

Topics have included, moving, immigration paperwork, staying in contact with family, relocating pets, cultural assimilation (or not), food, clothing, public transportation, racism, and finding work.

Areas of concern include: food and beverage (F&B), cabin services, passenger waste, lavatories, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO).
